I got home from work, looked at the sky, and knew Titlow Beach was calling. By the time I made the 50-minute drive to Tacoma, the sun was almost down. I ran to the water's edge just as it slipped behind one of the old pier pilings and burst into a star, pouring gold across Puget Sound.
